I thought it would be fun to see if you all can guess what this UFO (Unidentified Funny Object) is. I’ll give you some hints;
1. It’s made of metal
2. It’s fairly heavy
3. As far as I know they don’t make these anymore
Here is theĀ object in question. Let the guessing begin!

I’m guessing that it is part of a cloth hand towel dispenser….the kind that you pull down and the re is a loop of towel at the bottom and what’s used gets moved back into the dispenser.
A french curve for sewing seams..
I think perhaps from a hand-crank water/ well pump??
OK… I made the mistake of asking my husband what it was and he started talking about wine making – on and on! Then he laughed and admitted he had NO idea! It was a pretty good story while it lasted and I was all ready to write it all down…silly me!
I’m loving all of your guesses! Here is another hint: It has to do with vintage trailers.
Its an easy jack! You hook it on the axle and pull forward or reverse….
You are correct! It’s a 2-ton jack that was made in back in the day. If you look at the picture, flip it over and you put it under the axle and as you pull the trailer forward it lifts the side so you can change a flat tire. I’m curious why they don’t make these anymore as they seem pretty nifty. Hopefully, I’ll never need to use this one but will definitely keep it in the trailer just in case.

Stefan, what a great picture showing it’s use! Thank you for sharing that.
Actually you can still purchase these jacks @ places like Bass Pro Shops. Anglers use these jacks to assist in changing boat trailer tires.
