I thought I’d share some exterior pictures for you all. This beauty is a 1964 Astroflyte. Most people that know a bit about Shasta’s might initially confuse her with being a Astrodome as both models look identical on the outside. However, the difference is the Astrodome’s had a different layout with a bathroom and the Astroflytes do not. I prefer the layout in the Astroflyte and I’ll see if I can dig up a interior picture to show you the difference. Here are some exterior pictures. One thing I hope to get done next spring is make (aka paint on) white walls for the tires. I like that look and I think it will just add a little something extra to her appearance.
Layout difference between a Astroflyte (first pic) and Astrodome. The biggest difference is in the back of the trailer instead of a bed across the back that pulls out, the Astrodomes have a side goucho couch that pulls out on one side and then a bathroom. Granted the bathroom is a nice perk but I wasn’t thrilled with that layout. The Astrodome pic is courtesy of FlyingTurns Flickr stream.
WOW! She is a beauty! I hope one day our Astroflyte will look as good! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Deb! We just love her.
Oh that's so cute. You're going to get me in trouble if I start bugging Jerry for one of my very own. I think I need one to put out in my garden!
Just love those old trailers. I can just picture the fun they had in them.
Oh Dusty, keep bugging him! One would look darling in a garden. Not to mention a fun place to seek solace (:
Sandy, I can imagine too. They really are a lot of fun.
Miss this camper! Our family hopes you’re having fun with it, it was a great camper!
Hi Tatum! Actually we ended up selling it. But it went to a great home with a family with 2 little girls. I miss it too though. We have a 61 Shasta Compact currently. Quite a bit smaller than the Astroflyte but we are enjoying it and with gas prices it’s a bit lighter (:
Where can I see more pics of the interior of the Astroflyte? The wife likes the colors and the black and white tile. Thanks
Tony
