Shasta Compact renovation coming along

I have some progress pictures to share with you. The baby Shasta is getting renovation work done and it’s coming along nicely.

Her bum metal needs replacing so she’s getting new backside skin.

The windows are all being removed, trim polished and then they will be put back in with all new screws, sealed and shined up.
The interior will be repainted. The original wood is actually painted. I didn’t realize this. At first I thought it was a “wash” of some sort but it’s paint. So a new coat will go on. Also new black and white checker board flooring will be installed and the dinette/bed area will have brand new cushions. She’s also getting a new backsplash and refridgerator. Oh and new knobs for the stove. All the water lines and propane lines will be checked.
She’s also getting new metal on the entry door.
Once the interior is all finished, the last thing will be new professional exterior paint. We’ve decided to leave the color her original yellow. Why mess with a good thing right?

  1. Soooo jealous!! I want one of these so bad (but not the checkboard floor *lol*)! I wish there were more (or actually any) available in Nebraska! Looks good … I think you should keep it personally!

  2. Keep looking Mary! You'll find just the right one.
