When you have a tiny trailer like our 61 Shasta Compact storage is important. Now, I must preface this with saying that back in the day, Shasta thought out the layout of these trailers very well in regards to creating the most usable space in such a small trailer and this includes storage. But of course you can never have too much storage.
On each side of the trailer there are these upper cubbies and I wanted to find a way to utilize these the best way possible. I didn’t want to just set stuff up there as I could see it all shifting around while the trailer is in tow. So I decided to get some fabric locker style baskets. These were a perfect fit too! I found them for $4.99 each at Bed, Bath & Beyond. They were pretty plain though so I added some jumbo red ric rac and I think they turned out really cute. I also added labels for each of them so we know what’s in them before pulling them out.
just stumbled onto your blog–found your name a lot on other Shasta boards and since I'm a fellow Buckeye..well, I just had to check you out! I love, love, love your little Buttercup! That's the kind of thing I want to do to mine–well, when I find one! 🙂 I'm afraid to say anything on the boards because I really don't want to restore one to it's original state…I want a cute one, like yours!
I’m sure you’ll find just the right one. They are SO much fun!
