Vintage trailers as a mobile business

Most of us use our vintage trailers (or any trailer, rv or camper for that matter) mainly for camping. But there are folks that are finding unique ways of using their vintage trailers for more than just camping.

For example; you have the cute little Shasta Compact that is a mobile snow cone stand called Fresher Than Fresh. How cute is that?! I’m sure kids and adults alike can’t help but gather around this little cutie and buy some snow cones.

Oh and what about selling cupcakes out of a vintage Airstream like Hey Cupcake or catering events such as weddings with a vintage Shasta like Enjoy Cupcakes? “Sell from a vintage trailer and they will come” should be the motto. I know I wouldn’t be able to help myself and would have to go over to investigate as well as buy a cupcake or two (:

I think I’m starting to see a trend here aren’t you? I bet you could sell almost anything out of a vintage trailer. What about a vintage 1957 Kenskill trailer used as a vinyl records store like the Creme Tangerine below? Cool huh?!

If you could dream of the perfect business to use with your vintage trailer what would it be? What would you offer for sale to the masses? I’ve been pondering this and I think I would like to have one as a mobile art gallery and maybe attend various festivals, junk shows, etc., How fun would that be?

  7. Loved reading this and the creative ideas folks are coming up with. I am converting a 1966 DeCamp Travel Trailer into a mobile art gallery (it’s called the Happy Camper). My friend and local artist has done the same with her Sublime Mobile Art Studio.

We’d love to hear from other artists who have done the same. We are going to plan meet-up events.

    cheers,
