Vintage trailer space saving solutions

In my previous post I mentioned that I purchased one of these Cook’s 3 in 1 Breakfast Center’s. While these are relatively small, my kitchen counter space in the Shasta Compact is small too so I had to come up with a space saving solution on where to set the breakfast center.

What I came up with is to have one of these stove top covers made by Wendy’s Prims N Things. She and her husband make these wonderful covers and even do custom ones. When I saw them I thought “That is just what I need!”.  So I gave them a call, told them what I needed and they happily agreed to make it for me. It should be here in a week or so. This will cover the stove and a bit of the space over to the right of the stove (see picture below). It will be 20 1/2 inches wide x 16 inches deep. The 3 in 1 breakfast center is 19 inches so it will fit perfectly.

Here is a picture of a finished stove cover. The one I’m having them make will come to me plain and unfinished so I can paint it to match my interior color. I think this is a great way to gain space when you aren’t using your stove top!

  2. Thanks Robin (:

  3. I love the stove cover! I bought a bamboo cutting board that fits over my burners but it doesn't look decorative like yours will!
