What followed me home; 63 Shasta Compact!

Guess what founds it’s way hitched to my bumper last night? A 1963 Shasta Compact with original birch interior. Overall it’s in very good shape and I can tell the previous owners took care of it. The tires are like new. It does have a bit of A-typical water damage around the roof vent but the leak it had was repaired and it doesn’t leak now. It also has some previous water staining around the back window. Nothing that a new panel of birch won’t fix.

I found this cutie about 8 miles from home so I just had to bring it home. It came with an awning and poles, brand new spare tire mounted on original rim, misc camping gear, outdoor rug, etc., It also has I believe the original fridge and stove (haven’t tested those yet). It has the double canvas bunk holders but unfortunately no poles or canvas for that but that wouldn’t be hard to create.

She has original WINGS!

I thought it was so ironic to see it is painted yellow and white! Isn’t it cute!

Newly covered dinette/bed cushions.

I have all the glass globes that go over the lamps in the kitchen and the rear. They are safely stored in a box.

Original magazine rack. That is a stereo and speakers you see on the kitchen wall. Some camping tunes anyone? (:

I can’t WAIT for your update when you put it on the market! I have been looking for a canned ham for over two years! They are just NOT to be found in New England and I would seriously consider a road trip to Michigan………

    • Laurie, it’s going to go up for sale! I can’t keep both but just couldn’t help but bring this baby home with me. These are getting so hard to find and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Just got back from the DMV for the new title. Gosh, I love our DMV here. No lines and I was in/out of there within 5 minutes!
