Small Awning For Your Vintage Trailer

If you ever take short camping trips and don’t want to use a full awning, an little “Over-nighter” might be the ticket. We bought ours from Marti’s Awnings and just love it. It’s small at appx 5 x 5 I believe. It’s just the right size for over the entrance of your vintage trailer.

Marti offers them in various colors and patterns so you can get one that matches your trailer nicely. Here are some pictures of our 1961 Shasta Compact sporting her new little awning.

Another nice thing about the small awning is that if you have more than one trailer, you can utilize it for either one.

Very cute. Am curious, though. How do you get the fabric awning to attach to the side of the trailer? thanks for any reply.

    • Hi Debra, at the top of the trailer there is what’s called an awning rail. The awning slips into that rail along to the top and holds it there.

    • Hi Debra, there is a awning rail at the top that the awning slides into.

  2. Seriously love your awning & still wanting a little vintage trailer. Swoon every time I see yours. Camping season is upon us, are you taking yours out? Happy Camping!

    • Thank you Theresa. We so enjoy ours. I’m sure you’ll find one soon. We have several vintage trailer rally’s coming up so we’ll be doing some camping this year. I can’t wait!

  3. Hello, I need a replacement window left rear side for 1955 Shasta window is 25″ by 14″. Where can I go to find one? Thanks

    • Hmm, that might be a tough one Julie. Is the window frame itself still usable? If so, you could get replacement glass for it. If the window frame isn’t or if it’s completely missing you might try posting on Tin Can Tourist classified ads that you are seeking one. Someone might have a trailer that they are parting out.

  4. I have a small camper that needs an awning. What are the prices i do not see any
