Whew, I finally finished these up. I think they look pretty cute. Unique if nothing else that’s for sure. They are all mismatched which is how I wanted them. I think they’d look boring if all of them were exactly the same. Not to mention it would of been very difficult to find enough of the same kind. I’ll have to be mindful of the ones in the kitchen area should I cook on the stove. I think I need to hem those just a bit more.
Some of the grain and feed sacks of course have old stains, but you know I don’t mind.
Here is a picture with the bed all made up. So cozy! As you can see the curtains are really the only color in this trailer and I did that on purpose. The dinette seats are original and an off-white color and with the honey-warm birch walls I just wanted to keep this camper toned down. I figured if I want color I’ll use the Shasta Compact.
I know this wouldn’t be everyone’s choice to use feed sacks as curtains but I’m sort of digging these. What do you all think? Do you like them?? It’s OK, you can be honest if you don’t like them. It won’t hurt my feelings I promise (:
I love the curtains! They look wonderful in your trailer!
Like them? LIKE THEM? Are you serious? I’m gonna redo my whole living room with them! I have them displayed around my house already,,,,,,I LOVE FEED SACKS,,,,,,,I wonder if it’s because I like to be fed so much! Ha ha. I think you’re a brilliant designer. In fact,,,,as soon as I click send her? I’m going to be emailing HGTV so you can start negotiations for your new design show, Vintage Trailer Redo! The show can locate and purchase vintage trailers, and YOU can have design plans for them,,,,,,when complete, true vintage lovers can buy them and take them home!!!!! Ohhhhhhh I can’t wait to watch it!!!!!!!!!!
(don’t be surprised if HGTV rings you up!) 🙂
Impy, wow how nice of you to say. I’m *blushing*. Glad you love the curtains. I was a little unsure about them at first but once I got them installed I realized they really look good.
They are very nice….we just bought a 69 kit compaion a month ago it was my mothers day present….it was in very good shape but needed some sprucing up….I did it in red…black…white….I have before after lice but don’t know if/ how to share…I would love to share since your site was so very helpful while I was “glamming” it up…..we have gone out 4 times the last one last weekend with our 5 grandkids which is why we had to make it campable so quickly….3 of the 5 are moving to new Orleans July 5th….this will be the only time we would have all 5 of them together until maybe next year…;0)
Paula, I’d love to see your camper! Feel free to submit photos here: http://littlevintagetrailer.com/submissions/ I’m always interested in sharing pictures of other people’s trailers on the blog. So glad you find the site helpful.
I think they look great. Even tho there’s very little color, the whole trailer just pops. Love it.~
Thank you Sandy and Carol. So glad you like them.
I like everything about this trailer. I want it !!
I do like them! It’s an adorable trailer. Instead of shortening the kitchen curtains, what if you pulled them to the sides? ‘Cause I really love the blue border on the bottom and would hate to see any of the words lost. You could just use cup hooks and sew a little ring on the tie backs.
I’ve got to get my husband to install my curtain rods, so I can sew my curtains….
I think they are adorable! I am not a “matchy-matchy” kinda girl, I like variety (and my camper shows) 😀
I love everything you do. I’m still looking for a canned ham. Please keep me in mind.
LaVerne
love the curtains, I actually did something like that in my living and dining room in my house for a while.
It looks great Kelle! But I’m not surprised. You are so talented!!! Love it!
HI Kelle, What I am wanting is a “60 something Shasta, that looks like one the dollhouses you have redone, with a toilet and a shower. That would be my dream,
Contantly stalking your blog,
LaVerne
Hi LaVerne, I think you’ll find the perfect one. If you want one with a shower and toilet you may be limited to some of the larger models of that era as the tiny ones didn’t usually have those amenities. Oh and thank you for stalking. I welcome blog stalkers (:
I ADORE them!
Love the “feed sacks”. Way to think out of the box. Where did u get your mattress from. Is it a certain size?
Love the curtains! Very cute!
Absolutely love your curtains!! I have looked all over the web for ideas for my kitchen curtains and struck gold when I found yours. Thank you so very much for your wonderful posts.
