Hi-Lo Renovation Day 2

Day 2

So today was a long day. It involved just a lot of tedious tasks such as pulling out staples and such. Once that was done the next task was to lift off the roof skin.

Looking up inside the carport gave me an idea.

I decided to lift the roof and let it hang just above the trailer instead of trying to move it and store it elsewhere. Mainly the reason this makes more sense is so it doesn’t accidently get damaged when you try and move it or store it elsewhere.

So my son came out and helped me set up a simple pulley system and raise the roof.

Now that the roof was raised and secure, it was time to remove the ceiling. So inside I went and with some gentle pushes upward the fiberboard ceiling popped right out.

Mission accomplished.

Tomorrow I’ll get the birch ready. It’s coming along slowly but surely.

  1. I AM ENJOYING YOUR POSTINGS. WAS TELLING A FRIEND ABOUT YOUR SITE AND MY NEW INTEREST IN FINDING A VINTAGE SHASTA. I LOVE MY FAIRLY NEW SCAMP AND JUST HAD NEW SHABY-COTTAGE CUSHION COVERS AND LINED DRAPES MADE FOR HER.[.PINK]…… SO DARN CUTE ..BUT…..NO WALLS FOR PICTURES AND ‘NEAT STUFF’. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THE ‘AIR LINER FUZZ’ SCAMP USES TO COVER EVERYTHING INSIDE. OH WELL….FOR NOW I WILL ENJOY FOLLOWING YOUR RE-HAB. KEEP SMILING!

  2. Thanks for doing this series of postings. I purchased a 1974 Scotty Sero 3 years ago, but only had some work done to the water and electric systems, and then fancied her up. I had no idea what I was doing. Fortunately she has pretty good bones and is holding up pretty well. Maybe when your reno is done Il’ll have the courage to tackle it properly.

  3. This so cool to watch thank you sharing with us… I love it…great job cant wait to see more..
