1954 Terry Canned Ham for Sale

Sunny old canned ham is ready and willing to travel.  Wanda, the Wanderer, spent 4 months on the road after her renovation, surviving a 10,000 mile jaunt with the grace and dignity of a 67-year-old beauty.  Wanda was at Burning Man 2004 and  Highway 50 Association in 1984, and has the stickers to prove it. She is only 12 ft long and about 1000 lbs.  I pulled her fully loaded with my little 4 Cylinder Jeep Renegade without any problems. Her tires have about 20 thousand miles on them now, and there is a spare. I bought a spare tire rack for the tongue, but didn’t ever install it. It’s there for you. A new rolling jack was added too. The roof and seams were all waterproofed.

The Dometic Air Conditioner is brand new and works fabulously!! The trailer is still low profile enough to go through the drive through at your favorite burger joint. Maybe that doesn’t sound like a big deal, but I traveled alone with my big Golden Retriever for 4 months without any trouble. I could connect and disconnect the trailer and the wiring (modern 7 pin), I could gas up and drive easily through the narrow streets of New Orleans and Philadelphia.

She has a 4 burner stove with oven and 2 propane bottles attached (only one with gas in it). The fresh water tank is under one of the diner benches. The kitchen sink has a regular faucet and a pump style faucet for boon docking. There is a handy little fold down counter next to the sink.  There is a old time Ice box. The dining table is not original and doesn’t fold down into a bed, but with a piece of plywood, you could make a second sleeping space there.  The adjustable light above is an tap on tap off LED.

I developed a system to keep the cabinets from flying open and spewing dishes and food everywhere. You can see in the photos the white trim across the fronts of the cabinets. This is travel mode, the trim slides into the cup hooks and keeps every thing safe as you drive. It’s a little low tech but works great. 2 Spice racks are included, but you have to get your Spicewalla spices for yourself.  The 57 Chevy and Airstream Cookie Jars on the dining table are not included.

The curtains and cushions covers were new for the last trip. The cushion covers are a comfortable plush which can be taken off to wash. Big dog lovers rejoice! The floor has happy yellow and white check board tile, easy to clean. There are a lot of little touches like a extendable 2 way mirror, knob hangers, and a great coat rack that are tucked away in the corners.

The bed has a lot of storage under it with additional access from the outside. It probably used to be a convertible bed/couch, but now it only lives as an almost double bed. There is also small closet, and storage under the other diner bench. The inside of most of the cabinets have tile like the floor to make it bright and clean. I added a cot bunk above the bed. It will hold about 40 lbs, but I used it as clothes storage, adding the black cargo net to keep things from flying off during the drive.  The whole bunk can be rolled back to one side if you want more head room.

There is no room for a bath, but a porta potty is included. I think the ice box could be converted into a porta potty haven, maybe.

There is one 120v outlet under the dining table to use with shore power. The previous owners had wire pulled to set up a LED system throughout, and install LED lights, but never finished making connections.

It wouldn’t be too hard to add a battery and go solar if you like to boondocks on weekend trips.

I didn’t paint the outside because as I traveled, people would plead with me to leave it the unpainted aluminum. You might make a different decision, but all the while you will smile. Wanda is fabulous! Finally, the Wanda’s door inside has a check off list of the 63 National forests.  She has a new lock with key for safe keeping no matter where you go, plus a hitch lock so your home doesn’t leave without you. Wanda has some dings and foibles consistent with her age, but she’s a great old girl.

She is now located in Anaheim California but will soon be traveling up the California coast to Redwood National Forest from May 21 to May 25.  I can deliver to you if you are on that route.  She is registered and licensed in California and I have a clean title in hand. Wanda can get you out in the world again!
