~ ~ THIS TRAILER IS NOW SOLD ~ ~
This is a 1956, 16-foot (19’ with tongue) Boles Aero, Mira Mar trailer. This is a riveted, aircraft–grade, all–aluminum trailer. It also features all–aluminum, internal framing that will not deteriorate over time unlike many coaches of this era that had screwed (or nailed) frames that tend to deteriorate over time. The trailer weighs a little under 3000 lbs. when empty. There is a double bed and the dinette folds down into an over-sized single bed (large enough for 2 children or one or two (smallish) adults). The Dixie, 4-burner stove/oven works perfectly, as does the original refrigerator and electric water heater. The shower works when hooked up to park water and there is a relatively new port-a-potty in the bathroom. This is a park model trailer so there are no gray or black water tanks. Wheeled, portable, external gray water tanks can be purchased online. There is a (20 gal.?) water tank located under the bed that I have never used. I suspect it is fine and just needs to be flushed out but I can’t verify this. I usually just hook the trailer up to park water when camping. There is an amazing amount of storage on board including a large closet to hang your clothes in and many shelves and under-seat storage. The interior had been painted by the previous owner so I stripped, sanded and stained it and applied 3 coats of gloss, spar varnish. Most of the interior birch paneling is original. The trailer has a new axle and new electric breaks. The tires are trailer-specific, stiff sidewall tires with only a few hundred miles on them. The trailer sports moon hubcaps from an early 50’s Desoto. The dinette seats were professionally recovered and new period-correct, Hawaiian, bark cloth curtains were professionally made. The floor had been replaced with new plywood by the previous owner and we put down new, appropriate, vinyl tiling. We decided to leave the exterior as we found it, we liked the history it told, dents and all. The exterior certainly could be restored if that is your choice. The trailer comes with a new, period-correct awning and much of what you would need to go camping including scissor leveling jacks, wheel chocks, outdoor vinyl carpet, melamine dishes, etc. It also comes with a 1-yr. old high quality cover.
Price: I am asking $12,000.
Location: The trailer is located in Monterey, CA.
