~ ~ THIS TRAILER IS SOLD ~ ~
1959 Aristocrat Li’l Loafer
Restored in 2020.
This cute little trailer has just had a complete frame up restoration. We’ve sandblasted, powder coated and reused the original frame, axle, springs, and the 3 wheels; retained the aluminum skin, jalousie windows, and some of the original chrome pieces have been re-chromed (tongue coupler, license plate light). Everything else is new.
A chrome rear bumper was added, and the frame was extended to accept spare wheel/tire. The tongue retains the original coupler and tongue jack, both have been rebuilt, and the tongue has been rebuilt to accept a new propane gas bottle and a large 12-volt battery box (with new battery).
When building the floor, a new gas line, waterline, and trailer lights wiring were installed, and the floor area was reinforced at the entry door. All framing is new wood. Many areas in the walls were reinforced with extra plywood to accept grab handles, porch light, power plug, water inlet, etc.
The reused aluminum skin, after the removal of many layers of old paint, has been polished. The front and rear skin was replaced below the front and rear windows. The entry door width has been increased 4” and the door replaced using new aluminum. Wheel arches were cut in to provide easier access to wheels.
The original jalousie windows were rebuilt and repaired, as needed, and tinted. The two forward “port-hole” windows were replaced with new, custom windows.
The original roof vent has been re-conditioned and repaired.
New butyl tape on the entire exterior, and new stainless-steel screws placed at all joints. Clear sealing/caulking placed on butyl tape edges and around all exterior fittings.
Taillights and side marker lights were replaced with reproduction units. A new 30-amp power plug has been fitted. The new lighting (including the porch light) and power outlets are 120-volt AC; one interior light, refrigerator, and one power outlet are 12-volt DC. All power has a separate cabinet.
All cabinets, countertops, flooring, baseboards are new. Cabinet doors are fitted with magnetic closures and piano hinges.
The city water fill has been replaced and relocated for easier access. The sink drain piping is new, and the drain has an option of draining overboard or into a removable 5-gallon plastic on-board tank. We have added a new 15-gallon drinking water tank fitted under the forward lower seat, using the original fill fitting. We kept the original (rebuilt) hand pump at the new sink and have added a new city water faucet.
In place of the original ice box, we added a three-way (propane, 120-volt AC, or 12-volt DC power) refrigerator placed on the left wall. A porta-potty has its own separate cabinet.
And new reproduction decals have been applied under both forward “port-hole” windows, and on both front and rear of the trailer.
We’re including this equipment: 4 scissor jacks with ground pads and a drill motor (with extra battery and charger) to deploy jacks; a 50 foot ½” metal hose for city water hook-up; a 20 foot 5/8” hose for sink drain; a tire changing kit; 2000 watt power inverter; one 25 foot 30 amp 120-volt AC power cord.
This trailer has a clear title, the original 1959 Washington state license plate, and a non-expiring Washington state registration.
The trailer weight is 1,000lbs and it pulls nicely.
