This is a 1958 Mercury 15ft trailer.Factory listed weight was 1490 pounds, very tow-able by smaller vehicles.; It features a complete restoration by Tom and Gwen’s Canned Ham Restorations (Me). We have done 20 of these over the past several years since my retirement, this one being completed last year and has been stored unused since completion.
Restoration includes new springs and tires and gives it a 15 inch clearance. The bearings are repacked. It has all new wiring for the 110 power 12volt power and running lights. New paint following the original paint scheme. New body trim using aluminum diamond plate. An outside shower was installed and a shower tent is included. A new awning which attaches to the vintage trailer awning rail when in use.
The roof has been resealed with Henry’s white Sealant and does not leak. A fantastic 2 way roof vent was installed and a 250 watt solar panel shares the roof. It is attached to the inside charge controller that keeps the battery well charged. Space is up front for an additional battery if needed.
Inside it features new dinette seating in beige vinyl and makes down to a twin sized 2nd bed. The main bed is full sized mattress over a newly built framed storage area with access from the inside and outside. The dinette table has a coating of epoxy over the original Formica, the counter top is done the same way. The stove and separate oven are also original and have been refurbished and work well. The original large icebox was also refurbished and re insulated A nice splash guard protects the dinette area
from stove top mishaps.
The finish on the inside new oak panels is of a medium dark stain with contrasting lighter trim. The original gas lamp has been converted to 12 volt led for looks and safety. Led lighting by 12 volt and 110 lights are installed for optional lighting. A nice 12 volt car type stereo has been installed that plays DVDs CDs radio and aux functions. Nice speakers are included.
A new water tank has been installed and a new 12 volt quiet water pump. There is also a gravity fed original tank for extra water has been made functional. it has a small electric water heater located under the main bed along side the pump and tank. A 5000 btu a/c is installed on the back wall which can keep the trailer nice and cool even here in Arizona.
A nice large closet which contains a new porta potty that can be used there or out in the included shower tent.
