This is a very rare 1947 Kenskill Kustom Kamper model 10,serial #195. This was built in Bill Kennedy’s driveway before the factory opened.
I did a full off frame restoration on this little teardrop, replacing all the rotted wood, sandblasting and refinishing the frame, etc., but keeping as much of the cabinetry wood and scratched and dented aluminum as possible – I valued the wear and tear and felt like if I replaced everything then it wouldn’t really be, or have the soul of, a 1947 teardrop camper! Every time I’ve camped in this, I’ve been approached multiple times, and everyone wants to know about it. It’s a great conversation piece! That said, this camper is not for everyone as it shows its age 🙂
Everything is original and has been completely taken apart, cleaned and refinished and put back as it was. The only exceptions are the rear hatch which is 100% new except the kitchen light and supports as it was beyond saving, a new memory foam mattress and the added yet inconspicuous 12v lighting and outlet system.
