I was sent this photo today and wanted to share it with you all. She's looking great! As you can see we decided to keep her the original yellow. She has a new yellow counter and table top as well so we wanted to stick with the original color scheme. Today she'll have her wheels painted white and then once she gets back to the restroration shop they will put back in … [Read more...]
61 Shasta Compact Exterior Door Rebuild
The restoration guys are rebuilding the door on the 61 Shasta Compact. It was in bad shape and needed new skin so they are re-creating a new frame. It will also have a new lock/key like the original. Should be very nice when finished. The wee Shasta goes in for a new paint job next week. We decided to stick with the original yellow. I can't wait to see it when it's … [Read more...]
Every little girls dream to have her own mini vintage trailer!
Ok, I had to share this picture because it's just too cute for words. Apparently, it's a very rare trailer that was actually manufactured in the UK at one time in a child's size. Can you imagine having one of these in your backyard? Too cute! … [Read more...]
Shasta Compact renovation coming along
I have some progress pictures to share with you. The baby Shasta is getting renovation work done and it's coming along nicely. Her bum metal needs replacing so she's getting new backside skin. The windows are all being removed, trim polished and then they will be put back in with all new screws, sealed and shined up. The interior will be repainted. The … [Read more...]
Pint Sized Vintage Trailer for Pets
OK, I have to admit this is probably one of the cutest things I've seen. I came across this after a friend posted it to me over on Facebook. The company who makes these is called Straight Line Designs and they create whimsical furniture for a variety of organizations. The price tag on this cute little pup trailer is up there and beyond my reach but I still had to … [Read more...]
61 Shasta Compact
Daisy Shasta has a new little foster sister! We picked her up yesterday and plan to restore her. She is in pretty good shape and quite solid so she won't need a full restoration as far as replacing the interior or all the skin. She does have a boo boo on her lower hiney as you can see and I think we'll either replace that section of skin or come up with another … [Read more...]
Exterior Pictures of 64 Shasta Astroflyte
I thought I'd share some exterior pictures for you all. This beauty is a 1964 Astroflyte. Most people that know a bit about Shasta's might initially confuse her with being a Astrodome as both models look identical on the outside. However, the difference is the Astrodome's had a different layout with a bathroom and the Astroflytes do not. I prefer the layout in the … [Read more...]
1964 Shasta Astroflyte Interior Photos Part 3
This is the back couch that pulls out and makes a double bed. It's quite comfy. This is what the view of the inside looks like when sitting on the back couch/bed. Gotta love these floors! … [Read more...]
1964 Shasta Astroflyte Interior Photos Part 2
On we go with the tour... From just inside the door you'll see the kitchen on the far wall. Could it get any cuter?? The stove/oven is propane. Suprisingly, there is a lot of cupboard and drawer space. On the counter you can see my vintage appliances (got to have those right?). I love the little sink and colors of the counters. It even has a pull out cutting … [Read more...]
1964 Shasta Astroflyte Interior Photos Part 1
The layout of the 64 Shasta Astroflyte couldn't be more perfect in my opinion. Shasta thought of just about everything when they designed this trailer. If you look at new trailers now a days the one thing that many in this length lack is adequate sleeping accomodations. Another thing I love about the vintage trailers is for the most part they are lighter than the new … [Read more...]
