Saving Space with Space Bags

I was given a sample set of Space Bag Dual- Use Bags to try out and review for you all. I have to say these are really neat! These are great for storing items such as clothing and bedding in a vintage trailer as we all know how space is a commodity in our little trailers. I used these a couple weekends ago to store an extra set of bedding including sheets and a … [Read more...]

Rally Set up

Have you ever went on a camping trip and felt like you were having such fun that the time went by way too fast? That is how we felt this weekend at a rally. It was so nice to catch up with old friends and make new ones. We arrived on Thursday (next year I'm going a day early) and got all set up. This was Jelly Bean's first camping trip. Of course as usual I forgot … [Read more...]

Inside of the 1955 Bellwood

OK, so I got a bit snap happy and wanted to share some pictures with you all. I completed the dinette seat covers and while they aren't perfect, they will do the trick for now. I also appliqued a couple pillows I picked up with "J" and "B" (for those that don't know...those stand for her name; Jelly Bean). I haven't decided if I like them with the letters on there or … [Read more...]

How to add an awning on a trailer with no awning rail

So what do you do if your trailer doesn't have an awning rail? Well, there are a few options. 1. You could install an awning rail (this would be the most ideal solution). 2. You could use a EZ-Up canopy. 3. You can possibly clip your awning to your J-rail as a temporary solution. The third option is what I'm going to have to do for a upcoming vintage … [Read more...]

Cupcake Bunting Pattern

Who doesn't love cupcakes right? Here is a brand new pattern I just finished up. This is designed by me so you can make this sweet cupcake bunting for your vintage camper. You can make them in whatever colors match your decor. But they don't have to be made just for your camper. You could make them up for your next party or just for fun. This is a fun and easy … [Read more...]

How to improve the look of water stained birch

OK, so with most vintage trailers water staining under the front and rear windows is pretty typical. You will also commonly find it around the roof vent. Our 55 Bellwood is no exception to this. Now while the staining under the windows wasn't all that bad (I've seen much worse trust me), the proper way to fix the issue is by tearing out the offending panel of birch, … [Read more...]

Feedsack Curtains for 55 Bellwood Trailer Finished!

Whew, I finally finished these up. I think they look pretty cute. Unique if nothing else that's for sure. They are all mismatched which is how I wanted them. I think they'd look boring if all of them were exactly the same. Not to mention it would of been very difficult to find enough of the same kind. I'll have to be mindful of the ones in the kitchen area should I … [Read more...]

Beware of scams when buying a vintage trailer

I really wanted to touch on this topic after seeing a scam run rampant currently. There was a 1972 Roadrunner trailer currently listed for sale all over on Craiglist. It's a gorgeous trailer and it's listed for $1,800. It's a SCAM. The same trailer sold a couple weeks ago on eBay for $8,200. So please, please be careful. Scammers lure you in with photos they have … [Read more...]

Vintage Feedsack Curtains for Vintage Camper

OK, so I've sort of kicked around a few ideas for curtains for the 55 Bellwood including novelty fabric and vintage hanky's. What I finally decided on is to use various vintage feed and grain sacks. I wasn't sure how these would look but after sewing up a couple I am actually quite digging them. They are unique and pretty neat looking. I actually don't even mind the … [Read more...]

Vintage 1955 Bellwood Trailer

Look what showed up at my house! This is a 1955 Bellwood, a trailer of my dreams! I spotted on like this one in Kentucky awhile back sitting in front of someone's house. Of course I had to stop and check it out. The gentleman came out and told me that it wasn't for sale but encouraged me to go take a look inside. It was love at first sight! Ever since then I told … [Read more...]
